We have all heard of surprise proposals or dates, but a surprise wedding? This is probably the first of its kind. The man of this story went too far to make his bride happy. Let’s find out how..
I begin the conversation by asking Iyyappan about their first meet and he says, “I found her profile on KeralaMatrimony and we spoke for nearly two months. We bonded through phone calls and chats, and soon met at a mall for the first time. I was excited as well as nervous to meet her in person. I could see the same anxiousness in her when we started speaking but in just a few minutes we both felt comfortable.”
When I ask them about their wedding, Shashikala says, “We both are from Kerala but live in Mumbai and so we arranged our wedding here. The only drawback was that a few of our friends and relatives couldn’t make it to the wedding due to the distance. Iyyappan and I really missed our close ones on our special day. Little did I know that there was something waiting for me.”
I then turn to Iyyappan to ask him about this event that astonished his wife to which he starts, “I took her to Kerala after our wedding to visit our relatives and friends. Without her knowledge I arranged for a surprise wedding in our hometown too. With the help of my friends I made arrangements for our wedding and then informed her. She was completely taken aback. The best thing was that we lived our beautiful moment again with our close ones and it really is something we will always cherish. I still remember the look she had on her face when I told her about it and that was just priceless.”
Shashikala adds, “I think this is the best surprise of my life. We had so much fun in this surprise wedding. I never thought I would be so lucky to get a surprise like this.”
To conclude the conversation I ask her for the qualities she admires about Iyyappan, to which she says, “I liked him on the very first day when we met. I adore the honesty in him. He makes me forget all my pain and tries to make me happy all the time. He puts in efforts to see a smile on my face always.”
We wanted to make memories. Well we did!
