What is VPid?
VPid is a Web-based identity self-verification solution provided by Verified Person, Inc. Make your profile stand out from all of the others. Establishing trust and comfort is a crucial component of transacting online. VPid allows members of BharatMatrimony.com to elect to verify key data points of their own profile. Hide
How does the verification process work?
You supply us with a few points of personal information (Name, DOB, Last 4 SSN, Gender and Zip Code). We use this information, along with public records database, to confirm your identity. Examples of public record information include, but are not limited to, phonebooks, birth, death, and marriage records, property records and criminal/ sex offender records. After you have correctly answered a set of questions to affirm that you are whom you claim to be, we validate information in your profile, search for any criminal data and attempt to ascertain the situation in which you live (alone/someone with the same gender, person of opposite gender). Further, you will be sent an email with instructions for accessing your verified results via the VPid Website (www.vpid.com). Finally, a VPid logo will appear next to your name on the partner site to allow others in the community to view your verified information. Hide
What kind of information can I verify using the VPid product?
Currently, VPid allows you to verify the following information:
- Age - To protect your privacy, only your age is displayed to other users.
- City of Residence - To protect your privacy, only the name of the city is displayed to other users.
- Criminal History - Criminal record details are available only to you (i.e. no one but you will be given access to the specifics of the offense(s) uncovered by our system). Others will only see the severity level of the offense found (e.g. minor, major, extreme, etc.).
- Sex Offender Status Similar to criminal records, detailed results are only available to you. Others will only see if the record was or was not found.
- Living situation To protect your privacy, we only display general information about your living situation. The living situation result will display two possible categories:
- The person lives with someone of the opposite (or unknown) gender.
- The person lives alone or with someone of the same gender. Please note that the second category combines both scenarios and will NOT specify whether someone lives alone or with a person of the same gender.
